Advertising + Marketing by Plato with MorAlchemy

What would Plato say about modern day advertising and marketing?

According to MorAlchemy founder, Cristina DiGiacomo we can relate many of the great philosophers of our time to modern business practices. In this expert interview for our Check Your Assets, insights blog we interview her about how Plato’s ‘allegory of the cave’ from about 350 BC could be utilized to describe the customer journey and modern day advertising, marketing and branding as we are doing today.

In The Republic (375 B.C.), Plato wrote about ‘the allegory of the “cave”, an explanation of the process of education or enlightenment of people. An extended metaphor for how people “see the light” and stop “living in a cave”. I discovered many applications for this allegory during my time in advertising.
