In this video, Jared Brick presents Life is the Adventure presentation to a high school class in Santa Cruz, CA 2026. This presentation is part of a series of speaking to students in the county about work, media industry and general life lessons learned. It is part of Y.F.I.O.B.
In our effort to support a new generation of students and media creators, BHM founder Jared Brick holds these casual informational talks at local schools. In collaboration with an organization called Your Future Is Our Business. YFIOB these talks are part of a series to help kids learn about alternative options for their careers. Jared enjoys sharing his own experiences to students because he recalls being bored in high school and not having speakers like this come to speak to him ever.
The other fun part is to experience what it takes to develop a career over decades, and then the large number of choices and paths that life takes. He has tried to be as transparent and authentic in his own journey as possible, and wants these kids to feel that authenticity.
It's an amazing experience to recollect your life and present it to high school students. You can feel their challenges and even some dismay in these classrooms, as these kids look forward to careers that are uncertain. By sharing these life lessons, Jared feels that he’s giving back to the local community and educating kids in a different way, one they may not be receiving in normal classes.
